Ban of mines deal that didn't go through for US
Also on page 765 President Bill Clinton tells us of the great disappointment of the United States who despite all her efforts and great expense put in the fight against mines, ended up not being part and parcel of a landmark International treaty banning land mines. Somebody on the committee just wanted to bully the United States, coupled with the fact that the world political mood about mines had changed dramatically after the death of one of its' champions, Princess Diana.
