Here's One Of The Parts In The Book That Left More Questions Than Answers For Me

Clinton takes a lot of time to talk about the man whose name he carried to the White House, Roger Clinton, his step father and their fascinating relationship.

On Page 51 (paperback) he makes it clear that Roger Clinton was a good man who could just not help himself. He then talks of the divorce his mother filed and then the reconciliation where his mother took back an abusive husband although she knew he would not change.

In later years the Monica Lewinsky affair would suggest that Bill Clinton had some addictions of his own that he could not help, despite him being "fundamentally a good person."

Was this the message the former president was trying to get across here, either sub-consciously or otherwise?

This is one brief passage of the book that left me with lots of questions.
