Going for the kill at Clinton's expense

In page 439 of the paperback edition of Bill Clinton's My Life he talks about the home stretch of the campaign. The frenzied rush to cover as many states as possible before the elections. But at the same time his opponents were coming after him for the kill and he had to hang on with all that he had.
